HOW CURSILLO IS ORGANISED

Bristol Anglican Cursillo is run by a management committee that we call The Secretariat. As in many organisations the Secretariat has at its head a Chairperson who in Cursillo is called The Lay Director, emphasising the fact that we are Lay led. However, we also have a member of the clergy on the team whom we call The Spiritual Director.

The Leader of each Three Day Weekend is called the Lay Rector who also serves on the Secretariat. In addition, the positions of Treasurer, Secretary, Communication Co-ordinator, Pre Cursillo Co-ordinator, Post Cursillo Co-ordinator and a representative to the British Cursillo Council are also in place

Cursillo is both a national and international movement. In the UK, Cursillo is represented in virtually all dioceses. You can find out more about Cursillo nationwide by logging on to

CURSILLO MEETS THE DIOCESAN OBJECTIVE OF :

Creating Communities of Wholeness with Christ at the Centre through growth in partnership, influence, numbers and committment. (PINC)

Our two main activities, both of which bring fun and fulfillment, are

  • Hosting Three-day Weekends to model Christian community and teach discipleship
  • Providing a secure environment for Christians to deepen their faith and to grow thus equipping them to nuture community where they are within their local areas, work or interest groups.

Wholeness comes from

  • Meeting with Christ in fresh ways
  • Having Christ at the centre of our experience

CURSILLO IS PINC IN THAT IT AIMS TO :

  • Bring about more growth through even greater partnership with member churches in the diocese
  • Follow Jesus' example of leading through influence
  • Increase numbers by implementing our principle of ' Make a friend, be a friend, bring a friend to Christ'
  • Renew committment  through relevant teaching, plus a fresh, challenging and exiting encounter with Christ

CURSILLO IS ITSELF A COMMUNITY OF WHOLENESS WITH CHRIST AT THE CENTRE
